Hyperarchy: Open Decision-Making for Open Organizations

A blog post on the Code for America site written by Joel Mahoney, that begins with him and five other Code for America fellows facing a decision-making dilemma. With the use of Hyperarchy, the main focus of the article, the group was able to use the tool to “pose questions, submit answers, and rank the list in their preferred order” and “generate a consensus list from the sum of personal ratings” in order to produce structure in the decision-making process. The blog post closes with greater questions of the impact of technology, particularly tools like Hyperarchy, on democracy.
