The UK Law Commission proposed in a paper submitted April 7, 2009 that the law relating to the admissibility of expert evidence is in need of reform. The Commission made a number of proposals which it believed will go some way towards rectifying the problems identified in the consultation paper. They turned to the public for feedback on these proposals with a view to recommending reforms in a final report to Parliament.
Comments were possible via their online forum, by commenting on the various parts of the proposal and by regular submission via (e)mail.
The consultation process ran from 7 April until 7 July 2009.
